Goldie was first elected on June 7 2018. A small business owner, an international trade lawyer, a community volunteer, a youth mentor, a past and current board member, and a proud life-long Ontarian – Goldie is proud and humbled to be the Member of Provincial Parliament for the riding of Carleton.
Goldie believes that education is the key to success and empowerment. Her parents immigrated to Canada when she was only a year old, and she credits her professional accomplishments to Ontario’s public education system. She is proud to support the Somali Hope Foundation because of its mandate to provide free, quality education to both boys and girls. Giving children the tools to succeed not only benefits themselves, but benefits their families, their communities, and the next generation of children and youth in Somalia. Goldie is proud to be part of this Canadian-led initiative and is very excited about the future of the school, and its first graduates!
